Tour Itinerary

Day 1: DAY 1: ARRIVAL / HABARANA- 210KMS – 4.5 HOUR

Arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport, Katunayake met by representative and transfer to hotel in Habarana via,
Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage The center opens at 8.30 and closes at 6pm daily. Bottle feeding is at 9.15am, 1.15pm & 5pm and bathing time at the river is at 10am and 2pm. Pinnawala (Pinnawela) Elephant Orphanage is very popular tourist attraction visited by Sri Lankan tourists as well as by the foreign tourists. Visiting Pinnawela grand opportunity to enjoy the spectacle up close a large herd of elephants interacting together. The highlight is the elephants at the bathing hours: at 10.00 am and 2.00 pm daily.

Sigiriya Lions Rock is an ancient rock fortress located in the northern Matale District near the town of Dambulla in the Central Province, Sri Lanka. The name refers to a site of historical and archaeological significance that is dominated by a massive column of rock nearly 200 metres high.

Minneriya National Park is a national park in North Central Province of Sri Lanka. The area was designated as a national park on 12 August 1997, having been originally declared as a wildlife sanctuary in 1938.

Day 2: DAY 2: SIGIRIYA TO KANDY | 100KMS – 3 HOUR

Hiriwadunna Authentic Village tour (Optional). Your day begins with a pick up from Habarana town at Evening. You will then be driven to the trek starting point at Hiriwadunna Village where everything is laid-back unlike the fast pace of the city. Mount a bullock cart for a traditional travel experience that lasts roughly fifteen to thirty minutes through the rural village of Hiriwadunna across scrub lined mud paths and enjoy the cool breeze along with the spectacular views. Your ride stops when you see rows of colorful catamarans arranged at the banks of the artificial reservoir. Enjoy a boat ride across the serene water blanketed with lily pads. The local boatman will make a hat using a lily pad and a lotus flower which you can wear for the rest of your tour. See the views of Sigiriya in the distance and spot a few unique species of birds as the boat is being paddled across the water. Upon reaching the shore you will be escorted to the house of a village local where your authentic Sri Lankan lunch will be cooked from freshly grown produce. Climb a tree house which is used by the local farmers to keep a watch on their crops and scare aware any elephants that come to attack it. After that, board a tuk tuk and enjoy a breezy ride back to the starting point.

Spice & Herbal Garden in Hingula Located on the main road between Colombo and the hill capital of Kandy. Visit a spice garden Hingula in Mawanella to see many different types of spices Sri Lanka is famous for. Cinnamon, Cardamom, Pepper, Cloves and nutmeg are cultivated that place. In addition to individual spices, the estate sold its own version of Sri Lankan curry powder.

Cultural Dance Show Held in Kandy town, this cultural show depicts various forms of Kandyan dancing which was once native to the area but has now spread to different regions of the island. Originated from a dance performed by Indian shamans who came to the island, Kandyan dancing plays an important role in Sri Lankan culture and is a much-anticipated event during perahera processions. During the show, you will see several dances which depict the graceful movements of birds and animals, which trace their origins back to the ancient ritual known as the Kohomba Kapkariya, as well as energetic acrobatic performances where the men perform a series of leaping pirouettes and stunts such as plate-spinning and the dramatic ‘fire walk’ which ends the show.

Day 3: DAY 3: KANDY / NUWARA ELIYA | 100 KMS – 3.5 HOUR

Day 4: DAY 4: NUWARA ELIYA TO BENTOTA | 250 KMS – 5 HOUR

Enjoy your breakfast at the Hotel in Nuwara Eliya and leave to Bentota via enjoying the scenic islands famous waterfalls (Devon & St. Clairs Falls) which is located along the Kotmale Oya, a tributary of the Mahaweli River, as it cascades over three rock outcrops into a large pool, running through a tea estate, from which the falls derive their name from. The waterfalls consist of two falls called "Maha Ella" (Sinhalese "The Greater Fall"), which is 80 metres (260 ft) high and 50 metres (160 ft) wide and "Kuda Ella", (Sinhalese "The Lesser Fall"), which is 50 metres (160 ft) high and located immediately downstream of the main fall.[4] St Clair's falls are the 20th highest waterfall in Sri Lanka. The Devon Falls is a waterfall in Sri Lanka, situated 6 km west of Talawakele, Nuwara Eliya District on A7 highway. The falls is named after a pioneer English coffee planter called Devon, whose plantation is situated nearby the falls. The Waterfall is 97 metres high and ranked 19th highest in the Island.

White Water Rafting at Kithulgala are recreational outdoor activities which use an inflatable raft to navigate a river or other body of water. This is often done on whitewater or different degrees of rough water. Dealing with risk and the need for teamwork is often a part of the experience.

Maadu River safari A breezy boat ride on the River will not only take your breath away but will invigorate your senses and uplift your soul. The River is situated in the Galle District and it is a fitting example of the intricate river channels which decorate our country’s south west coast. In the global context, the ecological importance of this site has garnered it the ‘Ramsar Wetland’ status in 2003 being the second largest wetland in Sri Lanka with a colossal 915 hectares with 23 islands inhabited by nearly 300 families. The River Sanctuary is now a Tourist Development Area and a Special Area Managed (SAM) by the Coast Conservation Department. Balapitiya is where the ‘Madu Ganga’ makes its home.

Day 5: DAY 5: BENTOTA TO COLOMBO | 120 KMS – 2 HOUR
